Peace of Christ

The Apostles' Creed (in own language)

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord. He was conceived by
the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He sufferd
under Pontius Pilate, was crusified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy
catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Offering

(for the victims of the atomic bomb who now live in Korea)

All All things come from you, O Lord, and we offer to you only what we have received from you. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer

(in own language)
Minister Lord have mercy.
People Christ have mercy.
Minister Lord have mercy.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time oftrial, and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom,the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.
Minister Show us your mercy, O Lord;
People And grant us your salvation.
Minister Clothe your ministers with righteousness;
People Let your people sing with joy.
Minister Save your people, O Lord;
People Bless the children of you
Minister Give peace, O Lord, in all the world;
People And help your people to put an end to every war at every corner of the world.

Channel of peace

Minister Let your way be known upon earth;
People Your saving health among all nations.
Minister Create in us clean hearts, O God;
People And sustain us with your Holy Spirit.
Minister The Lord be with you.
People And also with you.
Minister Let us pray.
O God, the source of truth and peace, your son Jesus Christ by his cross removed the walls of hatred that separated us so that all mankind should live in peace as members of the Lord's family, opening up the way of reconciliationin the Lord. Now, as we approach the 50th anniversary of the end of the war, we ask that you, the God who works through history, give us the courage and strength to respond to your call, so that we may truly recognize our nation's errors and repent. We ask that our church may become a tool in establishing the Lord's peace, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns forever, one with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O God, the source of all good desiers, all right judgements, and all just works: give to your servants that peace which the world cannot give: that our hearts may be set to obey your commandments, and that freed from fear of our enemies, we may pass our time in rest and quietness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
O heavenly father, in whom we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray thee so to guide and govern us by thy Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget thee, but may remenmber that we are ever walking in thy sight; Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Litany

[To recall the wounds inflicted on the peoples of Asia]

Minister

O God, we hold in our hearts a deep consciousness of the immeasurable sufferings and death visited upon so many, particularly the peoples of Asian nations, by the Asian-Pacific War. Help us always to remember that for the peoples of Asia this suffering and death is a sacrifice beyond atonement and a wound thatcannot be healed.

People

O Lord, hear our prayer.

[To recall our own and our nation's suffering]

Minister

O God, our nation's error in waging war brought a time of suffering for us, too. Give us the wisdom and the courage to avoid repeating this error, to change the present state of our nation, and to bring about your will on earth.

People

O Lord, hear our prayer.

[The ongoing sacrifice of Asian nations]

Minister

O God, now more than ever, we owe the stability of our lives, wanting for nothing, to the sacrifices of Asian nations, while we turn our eyes from poverty, violence and unrighteousness. Free us, we pray, from self-centered ways of living, and let us share in the pain and suffering of our brothers and sisters around the world, thefamily of God, and enable us to support them.

People

O Lord, hear our prayer.

[To abolish all nuculear weapons]

Minister

O God, we remember all those who lost their lives; were injured, andare still suffering from nuculear weapons which can destruct all thecreatuers on earth. Give your healing hands to the N-bomb victims in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Korean victims, and those the Pacific region.Lead the Hearts of the leadership of China and France, who are forcing nuclear tests and let them choose Life more than anything else. Lord, help us to know what we should do now, and to work together towards total abolishment of nuclear weapons.

People

O Lord, hear our prayer.

[For an end of discrimination and persecution]

Minister

O God, we have repeatedly discriminated against others and persecuted them on the basis of race, nationality, culture, customs and sex. We pray that we may follow the example of the Lord Jesus, who on the cross took away all the walls of separation between us in the world, so that we may serve the Lord whose work does away with all discrimination and persecution.

People

O Lord, hear our prayer.

Blessing
